When Personal Ads Get Too Personal

It can be hard to find that a special someone – much less find a date. Well, you can try the Personals. Keep in mind though, that when posting personal ads, you may want to check it twice before you send it in lest you join the ranks of these hilarious personal ads.

Give some serious thought when composing your brief message, just in case you inadvertently post something that turns into comedy gold.

There really isn’t much you can place in a small space, but as these personal ads (and Twitter) suggest, humor can spawn forth from brevity.

Zombies Seeking BrainsSomebody spent too much time playing Plants Vs. Zombies.

Uhm, too scary to contemplate.

lines 1, 3 and 5

Clever.

Not only did this succeed to be funny, it also managed to be sad at the same time.

How many legs is she supposed to have?

We’re all aware that it’s common practice now to manipulate photos especially for magazine covers, book art and movie posters. However, some artists go crazy or become sloppy when they start thoughtlessly retouching and rabidly cleaning up photos. One of the most common blunders artists make is using liquefy too much. Sure, they generally use the tool for retouching faces, but using liquefy too much sometimes distorts the face of the model. Sometimes, they even end up having a cartoony face.

Other common Photoshop works gone overboard are missing legs, models gaining extra fingers, and disproportional lengths of limbs. They may just be sloppy work of an overworked artist, but really, the prints are supposed to pass through editors, right? Or someone in charge of quality control?

Unlicensed Toys Gone Bad

We know that giant toy companies are the only ones with enough money in their coffers to afford to license and release toys from popular franchises. That said, we also know that for every licensed toy, there are about a gazillion knock-offs for it. The folks down at Fork Party pointed out some of the sadder (and more hilarious) examples of the Knock-Off Factory.

Titanic-Bot

Exhibit A: the Titanic-Bot. I guess some people would appreciate the twofer going on in the Titanic-Bot, though the Titanic being a robot in disguise is a little scary to contemplate, don’t you think? He would have been more effective against the iceberg though. The other blatant rip-offs include the Disney princesses in a box only marked “Princess,” Feddy who bears an eerie resemblance to a certain Krueger, and Planet Girl who looks amazingly like Sailor Moon and her pals.

On a positive note, we can be sure that children who can’t afford to buy licensed toys can get these instead, though parents should take note that Spider-Man is not a G.I. Joe.
